Extended by Request: North Side Food Drive thru 2/1/2009!

During this time of economic difficulty, we are helping those that are least able to provide for themselves. As part of the Martin Luther King, Jr.'s Day of Service, ChangeNation.org and BOPGH is having a Food Drive from Saturday, 1/17/2009 through Sunday, 2/1/2009, as a Community Service Event. The event has been extended an extra week upon request. Our efforts include securing food collection points and putting up posters the weeks ahead of the Food Drive. Then, the day of the Food Drive we will be setting up the food collection points and distributing fliers throughout our community. Our volunteers will continue to distributing fliers and spread the word throughout the duration of the food drive.

The food drive will benefit the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank (www.pittsburghfoodbank.org), a nonprofit organization that collects and distributes food items to soup kitchens, food pantries, shelters and many other programs to assist the needy. ChangeNation.org believe it is important that we continue to work in our community and help create the changes that will make it a better place. You can help by:

1. Donating food at any of our collection points.
2. Add your work place or local gathering place as a food collection point.
3. Distribute fliers in your neighborhood. Fliers will be available at the collection points.
