Economy & the Cost of the Iraq War

1) With the deepening difficulty of the conflict and the length of occupation, I am concerned that the war's cost will simply get worse and that even our grandchildren will be paying for.


2) One of my grave concerns is the unforeseen costs of the war in Iraq, which includes health care costs and disability pay. These costs will add more money to America's bill.


3) I'm saddened by the fact that for what we have been spending on the Iraq war we could have been investing in necessary infrastructure in our own country. Items like health care, schools and college tuition would be more cost worthy.


4) I'm upset that Americans are at risk because the major culprits are the oil companies and the war in Iraq. Greed has taken over, and the oil companies are no longer satisfied with hundred million dollar profits, they want billions!


5) Automobile sales and homeownership are declining because interest rates have increased due to continued spending on the war in Iraq. I am also concerned that the value of the dollar relative to foreign currency is raising interest rates.


6) Barack Obama?s background as a community organizer proves to me that he has the ability to create millions of new jobs and fight for the middle class. He is the only candidate to propose a middle class tax cut that will provide relief to 95% of working Americans like myself.
